Niamh is a barrister on secondment at Proudmans from Goldsmith Chambers. The common thread of her work is a commitment to achieving justice and safety for those most in need. She prioritises empowering her clients and giving them a voice.

 

At the Bar, Niamh has experience representing survivors of domestic abuse in private Children Act and Family Law Act proceedings. Outside of family law, she is currently instructed as Dr. Proudman’s junior representing “Lizzie”, a contestant in the reality TV show Married at First Sight, who alleges she was raped and subject to sexual abuse during the programme.

Niamh is also passionate about using her legal expertise to advocate for systemic reforms. At the Bar, Niamh has worked with Dr Proudman on a significant case about transparency in the Family Court, Jessica Bradley v CM and Ors [2026] EWHC 125 (Fam) and another challenging failures to hold the judiciary accountable for misconduct (coverage here).

 

Prior to the bar, Niamh worked in the third sector on policy influencing, advocating for fairness in the immigration and asylum system for marginalised groups. She also undertook voluntary casework for vulnerable migrants with issues including housing, welfare support, and community care. She has helped countless women and children fleeing gender-based violence and other forms of persecution and oppression.
